About Epex Technology
Most construction software is written by people who have never waited on a draw. EPEX Build was written to run our own eight-lot project, and it still does, every day, before any customer touches it.
How it started
Every month on the Burgoyne townhomes, someone assembled a draw request by hand: a line-item spreadsheet, a cover letter, invoices and lien waivers stapled into a PDF, and an email to the lender. Then a second document for each owner, showing what their unit had cost so far and what was due. Then a status spreadsheet for the Monday meeting that disagreed with both.
EPEX Build replaced those three documents with one system. Projects carry their schedule of values; a draw is a few clicks against it; the lender package and the owner statement come out of the same numbers; the status board reads them live. Then we kept going: e-signature, bank sync, inspections from the City of Houston, daily logs and punch lists on phones, and an AI assistant that writes the owner update and audits the reconciliation.
The founder runs all three Epex companies. Construction is where the software is tested, consulting is where the first owners came from, and Epex Technology is where it is built and sold. That is the whole model: take one back-office workflow a small business does by hand, put the records in one place, let AI do the reporting and the checking. Construction first. Other trades next.
Three companies, one loop
Builds. The eight-lot Burgoyne townhome project in Houston runs on EPEX Build: schedule, budgets, lender draws, owner statements, inspections.
Advises owners and investors on construction risk, contracts and draws. Its clients were the first owners to use the portal.
Builds the software and sells it. EPEX Build, EPEX Assist, and the implementation service that sets it up for other contractors.
What the jobsite taught the software
A build that cannot get its draw funded stops. The first thing we automated was the lender package, and it is still the feature customers ask about first.
A portal that shows an owner their unit's progress and money, and nothing else, replaced most of the calls and most of the mistrust.
Deposits, draws, invoices and bank lines that almost match are how a job quietly loses thousands. The AI audit exists because we lost some.
If a daily log or a punch item takes more than a photo and a tap, it does not get recorded. Everything in the field is built for a phone.
We set EPEX Build up for your construction business for a fixed price under $5,000, or you can start with the live demo and a free trial.
